Client stories are a firm favourite of ours, and working with Ross was no exception. As the owner of a building firm with several kitchen suppliers on the books, the bar was set high from the start — but scouring Schüller’s website and their outstanding range of transformative bespoke kitchens piqued his curiosity.
Our first step was to arrange an initial design meeting at our Hexham kitchen showroom near Newcastle. Ross and Michele, his wife, commented on how impressed they were with the size and quality of the showroom, before sharing a small stack of images they had sourced for their own kitchen inspirations. This process, one we follow with all our clients, gives us clear direction of favoured styles and colours before moving on to our brief and render stage.
The large extension to their property framed picturesque views of a beautiful valley, the perfect backdrop to a new living area and kitchen-dining space.
After speaking with the couple at our kitchen showroom near Newcastle, the brief described a traditional kitchen with a contemporary twist. There particularly needed to be a large kitchen island for friends and family to gather around — and we had a fantastic space to work with, for both cooking and sit-down meals.
Our plan and high-quality renders brought their vision to life. With only minor adjustments, they both fell in love with what we thought we could achieve — “It’s above and beyond what we could ever have hoped for!” — and the deal was done.
Their main vision was centred around an expansive island: a gathering point where culinary delights and memories could be shared. Schüller’s stunning Casa in Deep Blue emerged as the perfect choice, with its minimalist Shaker styling. Integrated AEG appliances, including a sophisticated induction hob with a downdraft extractor fan, double ovens, and a fridge and freezer — all this maintained the clean lines and crisp design we had been asked to create and maintain throughout.
Additional contemporary elements, such as natural oak featured storage and open panels with low-level ambient lighting, created the perfect atmosphere for entertaining. The pristine, white-veined marble Grespania worktops paired beautifully with the upholstered bench seating, providing both continuity and comfort for family meals. From both the culinary hub and the seating area, a magnificent vista of the valley was always on display.
In the end, Ross & Michele’s precise requests required numerous bespoke elements. Fortunately, one of Schüller’s many advantages is its wide range of products — virtually anything can be achieved, particularly with the support of a designer like Rhys on this project. The final result, Ross told us, was far beyond anything his business’ current kitchen suppliers could provide, and he was delighted with the service he received and their experience of visiting our Hexham kitchen showroom near Newcastle.
